I'm David Feldman. I fix bicycles in Vancouver, Washington.
NEW HOURS AND DAYS: PICK UP AND DROP OFF BIKES BY APPOINTMENT WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY AND ON SATURDAY MORNINGS. SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING TRANSACTIONS ARE AVAILABLE WITH THE PAYMENT OF A $10.00 CONVENIENCE FEE.
We live and I work in Vancouver's Truman neighborhood which is convenient to downtown Vancouver, Clark College, I-5 and I-205, as well as the #25 C-Tran bus line.
THE REPAIR STAND IS WAITING--It will soon be fall and I'm good at fenders and lighting, can build wheels with Shimano, Shutter, or SON dynohubs as well as Busch and Mueller lighting. Have you used dynamo lighting in the last ten years? It's on a whole other planet from where it used to be; not like those old side of the tire generators that made it feel like you were dragging a cinder block behind your bike on a rope, especially with even the least expensive dyno hubs you BARELY FEEL THAT THEY'RE ON! And the output of the B&M lights is amazing, they are German made and Germany has actual government standards for bike lighting; you can't sell mickey mouse lights over there and they don't make them.
WHEELS BUILT HERE--SUN, VELOCITY, WHITE INDUSTRIES, SCHMIDT, SHIMANO, PHIL, KING, CAMPAGNOLO. SAPIM AND DT SWISS SPOKES
40 YEARS WHEELBUILDING EXPERIENCE--Racing, Touring, Tubular, Tubeless, tube-whatever
IF YOUR BIKE IS OLDER THAN THE LAST MECHANIC THAT WORKED ON IT, I'M YOUR GUY.
MANY BIKE BRANDS ARE SOLD DIRECT TO CONSUMER AND EITHER IMPROPERLY OR PARTIALLY ASSEMBLED
RATHER THAN SOLD THROUGH DEALERS ANYMORE, THIS INCLUDES FORMERLY DEALER-ASSEMBLED
BIKES LIKE RALEIGH AND DIAMONDBACK. I ASSEMBLE MAIL ORDER BIKES WITHOUT PREJUDICE AND
WITH GREATER SKILL AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL THAN THE FACTORY ASSEMBLERS. $75.00 TO $120 PER BIKE.
As happy as I am to assemble any direct-to-consumer bike, it's always best to buy a new bike from
a shop that assembles on premises. I recommend Sellwood Cycle Repair for Kona bikes, River City Bicycles for Specialized. Talk to me if you are interested in a SOMA or Velo-Orange build!

From time to time I have inventory that needs to leave--check out what I have under the seller name "northbankwrench" on ebay.
Going on vacation? Home from college/moving to college? Need a bike packed? I do a great job--$60.00 including materials and box, check the pictures of a bike ready to ship in the Gallery page as well as a frameset padded and ready to box.
Like anything else worth doing, bicycling is worth writing about. Maybe the best person in the US who is writing about cycling today is Eben Weiss, aka "bikesnobnyc." He has several excellent books out as well as a regular column in Outside magazine. My quote of the month, from his current column: "Take away the cars and a typical city traffic jam boils down to just a handful of schmucks going nowhere. And het cities continue to prioritize cars whle relegating bike lanes to the margins, as tough this will somehow foster movement." If words writting about cycling were comparable to music, this would be London Calling, Giant Steps, and Beethoven's 9th symphony conbimed! Newest Bike Snob column on outsideonline.com. His latest--the mayor of New York's terrifying unconcern with dead cyclists and pedestrians. Makes me think two thoughts, 1. Be happy that Bill di Blasio has virtually no chance of becoming President of the US, and 2. Another reason to feel profoundly grateful to live in the Pacific Northwest!
In addition to the usual tuneups, drive train cleaning, and overhauls: Wheel Building
Campagnolo expert--Ergopower rebuilds, most common spare parts stocked. I can also change races in Campag hub shells.
